Privacy Policy — My Memory
Last updated: 11 August 2026
My Memory is a personal memory app. This policy explains, in plain language,
what happens to what you tell it.
The short version
Everything you capture in My Memory stays on your device. We do not collect it,
we cannot see it, and we do not sell it.
What we collect
Nothing.
My Memory has no user accounts, no sign-in, and no server that stores your
memories. It does not send your captures, your usage, or any identifier to us or
to anyone else. There is no analytics software, no advertising software, and no
third-party tracking software in the app.
Where your information is stored
Everything you capture — the words you spoke or typed, the times, the people you
mentioned, and anything the app works out from them — is stored in a private
database inside My Memory's own storage area on your device. Other apps on your
device cannot read it.
If you have iPhone backups turned on (iCloud Backup or an encrypted computer
backup), your device backup may include My Memory's data, the same as any other
app. That backup is governed by Apple's terms and your own backup settings, not
by us. We have no access to it.
Microphone and speech recognition
When you tap the microphone to capture a thought, My Memory asks iOS to turn
your speech into text, and asks for it to be done on your device whenever
your device supports it for your language. In that case the audio never leaves
your iPhone.
If your language has no on-device speech model installed, iOS may transcribe
that audio using Apple's speech recognition service. In that case the audio is
handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy. My Memory sends nothing else, and
attaches no name, account, or identifier to it.
My Memory listens only while you are actively capturing, and stops as soon as
you finish. It never listens in the background.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your information. Not your memories, not your health details,
not your family history, not a profile assembled from them. This is not a
business model we will adopt later.
- We do not share your information with advertisers, data brokers, or analytics
companies.
- We do not build a profile of you.
- We do not use your memories to train any AI model.
Your control
- Every memory can be marked done or let go from inside the app.
- The original words you captured are never edited by the app.
- Deleting My Memory from your device deletes its data with it. Because we hold
no copy, there is nothing for you to ask us to delete.
Children
My Memory does not knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age,
because it does not collect information at all.
Health
My Memory is a personal memory tool. It is not a medical device. It does not
diagnose, treat, cure, or manage any medical condition, and nothing in the app
should be treated as medical advice.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of My Memory ever adds a feature that sends data off your
device — for example an optional backup or sharing feature — it will be opt-in,
it will be explained in the app before you turn it on, and this policy will be
updated before that version ships.

Support
Need help, found a bug, or have a question about your data? Email support@mymemory.app and a real person will reply.
My Memory works entirely on your iPhone, so there is no account to recover and no server outage to report. If the app is misbehaving, the fastest fix is usually to close it fully and reopen it.
